Here are a few hints and tips regarding working with waxed canvas: - use a size 16 or 18 Denim or Microtex needle - use a longer stitch length to sew your seams. Farther apart stitches make less holes, therefore more waterproof. If you need your bag fully waterproof you will need to use a seam sealer on the seams. - It is not recommended to iron waxed canvas a pressing wheel is better to flatter seams. - Also marking pens are not recommended. The fabric marks very easily just with your fingers. If you need to mark it, use the tip of stylus and gently score to make marks. - Instead of pins, that will leave holes in your fabric, use Wonder Clips to hold fabric pieces together. - Once your project is complete, clean your machine. Use a bit of rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab. There should be no wax transfer but a little cleaning never hurts!
