About The Cloth Castle

Family Owned & Operated - Our Staff - Great Selection & Prices

Family Owned & Operated Since 1969

Customer Service

The Cloth Castle is a family run business that prides itself on customer service and keeping a one-on-one relationship with its customers. Many of our customers are more than that: they have become our friends. In a time when it seems we talk more to computers, it is nice to come to a store where you are recognized as a friend.

Family Business

Sylvia Ratcliffe is the owner of the Cloth Castle and has always had a deep love for it. Sylvia has been running the store since November 1969. Before the store became the Cloth Castle, it was called the Yarn Barn which was owned and operated by Sylvia's mother-in-law, Ethyl Ratcliffe. It is amazing to see the transformation of what the store used to be and what it is now. It is always transforming itself.

Experienced & Helpful Staff

We currently have eight staff members who each have experience in different areas of sewing, quilting or home decor, as well as with sewing machines. There is always someone available to figure out that stubborn sewing question or help with the colour selection for a quilt!

Best Selection, Great Prices

We pride ourselves on having the best selection of quilters' cottons in Victoria and expand that selection everyday. Combined with the great selection of fabric we have great quilting kits as well. Our bargain floor is a local favorite and is not to be missed, with quilters cottons as low as $2.99 meter.

In addition to the bargain floor, we have great daily specials and support our local guilds with in-store discounts.

Come And Stay Awhile

Well, we hope that gives you a little background on us. If you have never been to our store, we would like to invite you come and stay awhile. We hope to see you soon.
